The Leelanau Historical Society has a board comprised of a maximum of fifteen trustees. Trustees represent a diversity of experiences, ideas, and lives, all of which enrich the organization's governing body. Whether county natives, members of old resort families, or relatively recent arrivals, all trustees are linked by a love of Leelanau and a passion for its cultural history.
The board of trustees has seven standing committees, which reflect the essential functions of the Society: Buildings and Grounds, Collections, Development, Executive, Exhibits and Programs, Finance, and Trustees and Volunteers. These committees are comprised primarily of trustees, but general community representation is essential. The Director and the President are ex officio members of all committees. Committees meet regularly and report to the entire board at its scheduled meeting, the fourth Monday of every month. A list of the Commitee meeting schedules follows the bios at the bottom of this page.
