Leelanau Maritime History Festival
September 12th, 2026

Discover one of Northern Michigan’s most unique waterfront events at the 4th Annual Leelanau Maritime History Festival in Leland, MI (two blocks from Historic Fishtown) hosted by the Leelanau Historical Society. Set along the newly constructed Leland River boardwalk at 203 E. Cedar Street, this vibrant, family-friendly celebration invites visitors to explore the sights, sounds, and stories of the Great Lakes while enjoying a day in one of the region’s most picturesque coastal villages.

In 2026, as part of the America 250 celebration, the festival returns bigger and better than ever. Experience the 21st Annual Wood Boats on the Wall, featuring a stunning lineup of classic wooden boats, and enjoy the return of a crowd favorite – the Classic Car Show hosted by Van’s Garage – filling the Leland Cultural District block with vintage charm. With free musuem admission, outdoor exhibits, local community partners, live music, and activities throughout the day, it’s the perfect reason to plan your visit to Leland in September!
